"The Aspirant Technique is a light, ethereal connection with your horse that
creates a oneness of spirit." ~Carolyn Rose

"Dressage is a celebration of the equine body and spirit." ~Carolyn Rose

The Art of Dressage

Dressage is meant to be art. An art that comes from creating more balance in your horse each time you ride. You cannot create art without an understanding and respect for the horse's nature. Your training must not spoil the spirit of the horse. This is the foundation philosophy of the Aspirant Technique. From this place comes superb lightness, balance and a willing horse. It is your job to learn your horse's language, this allows your relationshiop with him to be a partnership. Listen to his messages, he is sensitive and wants to understand you. When you do, there will be a oneness of spirit and your performance will be art."
~ Excerpt from Book Four: Training the Dressage Horse After Backing

"My experiences with horses has been extensive at Isaac Royal Farm. Using the Aspirant Technique, as taught to me by Carolyn Rose, has been the foundation of my success as a trainer, instructor, and judge. I have been using the Aspirant Technique for over 14 years and have seen its effect on horses of all breeds, temperaments, and levels of training. I have seen it transform un-rideable horses and I have felt the magic of riding a horse truly in self-carriage." -Sandra Beaulieu

"Several years ago, I was fortunate enough to find Carolyn Rose and Isaac Royal Farm when my daughter attended a summer camp session. I was truly amazed with the progress that she achieved during the week-long camp with Carolyn and her staff. A few months later, my daughter and I began travelling regularly to Isaac Royal Farm for riding lessons. Having renewed my interest in riding in my late thirties, my only aspiration was to ride for pleasure. Learning the Aspirant Technique was pivotal in changing my goals from riding for pleasure, to working towards becoming a dressage judge. The Aspirant Technique begins with teaching the rider the importance of balance and builds on that in a systematic manner. Respect for the horse is continually reinforced, allowing the rider and horse to develop a mutually beneficial relationship. As I become more proficient, I am recognizing the importance of developing a solid foundation of basic skills such as balance, leg-yielding and half-halts and how these skills are the key building blocks for becoming a successful dressage rider. I encourage riders of all venues to explore the elements of the Aspirant Technique and integrate them into your training." -Robin Brittelli

“By having the opportunity to ride so many horses at different levels I have learned so much in such a short amount of time! Becoming Carolyn’s student was the best decision I could have made to become a true success as a dressage competitor and trainer.” -Deanna Thompson
